Since 2018 we have been working with an oral scanner to make digital impressions for veneers, inlays, crowns and bridges. This oral scanner visualizes a three-dimensional (3D) image of the mouth by means of many concatenated photos. This scan is then forwarded digitally. Due to the precision of these images, the workpieces, duplicated and made by special digital milling machines at a recognized dental laboratory, are returned to us.
Due to the scan’s accuracy and the workpiece’s digital production, this gives an even more precise representation of the situation than was previously achieved with “biting”. As a result, the facing, inlay, crown or bridge connects perfectly to the processed tooth.
The biggest advantage for you is that it eliminates the need to “bite” into a special material in order to make an impression of your teeth
